Default 230 model question

Its a 230 chain drive with no rear suspension? I knew they made a 250 chain with no rear suspension, but never heard of a 230 like that.

Mine is a chain drive. What determines if I have rear suspension?

Are there shocks and springs on the rear of your bike or is the rear axle mounted to the frame? Shocks and springs mean you have suspension, no shocks and springs means your teeth rattle when you hit bumps.

Thanks for the clarification. There's a rear center shock that mounts to the swing arm. So, I've got suspension then, huh.

MBrooks420, the motor mounts with bolts and spacers to the frame itself, no plates used. Well, the bottom mounts with bolts to the frame, the top used a bracket and bolts. Does that answer your question, and if so, what does it tell you regarding the model?? I appreciate your help!!

Default 230 model question

It the motor mount in front of the starter(by where the exhaust pipe comes out of the motor) doesn't have a plate(just a bolt thru a round bushing welded to the frame)than the bikes are post 86. If it has a shock it should be a lt230e Quadrunner. Is the reverse lever on the motor itself?

Hmm, I'll have to look tonight, I don't really remember. It seems like on the front of the motor, at the bottom, there was a bolt/spacers that secure it to the frame (no plates or anything), and at the top, we used brackets, right under the gas tank. I don't remember the motor attaching to the frame up front in any other spots. And yes, the reverse lever is on the motor itself, right above and to the rear of where a footpeg would go if I had one that fit.

Do you have a peg on the other side? You need a solid peg, not the one that pivots and has a spring? I have a few 230's and may be able to scare one up.

Default 230 model question

I have a right-side peg that seems to be working. The brake pedal I had didn't work, though, I bought one that looks like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2435564813

...and it worked. The brake pedal I had was more straight, and when mounted it hit the engine. This one bends under the engine. But for the left side peg, the one I have won't work. Here's one that's like the left peg I do have:

Here's one that looks like it would work, I just haven't broken down and bought it yet. $30 is probably a good price, I was just kinda hoping one would come up on eBay a little cheaper:

See how the back part bends in? That's what's keeping the one I have from working, the one I have is straight, and won't work with the frame. But the addy above claims that peg is off of a Quadsport, and all this time I've been thinking I have a Quadrunner. Any thoughts?

It it has factory electric start, a pull starter, and an auto clutch than it is for sure a Quadrunner. Quadsports have kickstart only, and a manual clutch. The pic in the middle link is a Quadsport peg. I tried to put a peg from a QS on my QR and It wouldn't fit without spacers.
