I really havent liked any of the new four stroke atv that have come out thus far . I am a little exited about seeing a yamaha 450 and the honda 450 in action . I may trade my 250r in for one but i have to see how they compare in the real world. As to what this has to do with this post not much exept that in trying to make these new four strokes light as a 250 they have sacraficed strength. This is why you guys have these minor yet real problems with you atv's, and i really dont want to have to buy new a-arms or tie rods cuz they get bent my 1st week riding. This is a huge down side to getting a 400z !

Not yet. Really don't want to tear the carb apart yet. Running great right now.

i have no complaints, but i would prefer the reverse to be slowed down a bit. the wheels spin so quickly that it is hard for it to hook up in sand and gravel. But i love the quad, good power, good comfortable ride, and can handle anything i have thrown at it.

The low end torque is easily boosted by removing the noise baffle from the snorkel and properly rejetting.. There's no need for expensive aftermarket parts.

The only flaw I see is that for every 4 cycles, there's only one power stroke!

yeah im not ready to support the 4 stroke revolution by any means but i do look forward to 4-strokes getting close to a 250r in weight and power , until then im not gonna get swept up in the hype. I rode a 400z for about 10 minutes and all i could think of is how my piped blaster SEEMED faster.

Im upset b/c my wont kick over right away. My friend has a Predator and it only takes his 2 kicks to get going... mine will sit there for about 2 minutes b/f it will finally kick over. That is one of my major problems.

i have proably ridden mine 200 hours in the past 3 months i have had it, went to tellico and hatfield McCoy trails with it. have been over the most rocky stuff you could imagine, wrecked it into a jeep, rolled it about 4 times, and jump it constantly with lots of flat landings, i do take care of it and so far the only thing that has broken was the clamp for the front break, (it came from rolling into a jeep at tellico) i think it had held up very well, i ride it fast and hard all the time, even on the rocks too. it has been a great bike, and reverse is awsome. it feels light and nimble. sometimes the front end can feel a little too light, but it is a great bike.

Good post. I am going to buy my wife one on friday and was wondering the same thing. A friend of mine has one with a 500 big bore + stroker kit and it is just awesome.

Just bought my Z about a month ago, and so far it has been problem free. The engine IS definetely happier revved up. But it just takes a little getting used to. All in all, Great bike.
