top end rebuild lt250r
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site that shows the steps for a top end repuild for a 1989 LT250R? I have only done this rebuild once on this bike and at that time there was a good website that showd the steps to take. I have rebuilt an 86 many times, but this motor is a little different.
Thanks

im in the same boat as you glamisnor...ive rebuilt a lot of 2 stroke top ends but never a water cooled 1, like my lt250r.. maybe we can both do ours at the same time and compare notes lololol........... im just afraid mine may need a little more ...motor sounds kinda rattley..... im pretty sure top end needs to be redone compression is defenatly down when cold ........would appreciate any input from memebers

thanks mark for your offer of help.........i would like to continue to ride til the weather gets too cold before the rebuild ........so i have justa question for now ............ when engine gets hot and i come to a stop idle revs high..do you think this could be a air leak??? engine does not respond to idle adjustments by way of idle set screw.. but if i adjust the cable at the throttle idle will go down...but still hangs up high when coming to a stop?????? installing a new cable today before i go riding ill see what happens .....what do you think???? thanks Gary

replaced the throttle cable today.......still does the same thing .......im thinking that maybe there is a idle jet problem.....because when i installed the cable with proper amount of free play motor woulnt even start..but if i adjusted the cable tighter it would start but same old problem of reving when hot .. not to mention a fouled plug cut my riding day short .........any suggestions thanks again gary
