how many discs should i be running in there? for a stock 400 ... except uni filter no lid.

 

It depends on how you want to tune it. What do you use the bike for? For full top end you want as many discs in as possible.(it gets louder with every one) The more you tune for top end you loose bottom end power due to decreased backpressure. I'd rejet if you haven't yet.

 

Im runing a ct pipe with a K&N filter and no lid. I think my pipe has 7 discs in it and it performs great. Seven is the number that came in it when I bought it. I am very happy with the pipe.

 

hmmm mine has 17 disc... so if i run like 8 in ther eill get good low and good high?

 

my raptor has 16 total, and i run them all. never had a problem getting into silver lake dunes in MI, limit there is 94 db.

 

call CT, they were very helpfull with some of my questions.

 

When I bought my ct pipe I asked these same questions to them and they told mt with stock motor and filter you run 7 discs. they said If you modify the motor you can add to it to get different power bands. on the dyno at the shop when I put my ct pipe on it had 1 hp more peak hp with the end cap and the discs on then with it off I was just doing everything to tune the ppe and 7 is as well how many i say put the most hp to the machine.
