Default Got Eiger 4x4 stuck, then I got real lucky!

I was out at a local riding spot yesterday afternoon with a friend who has a 2wd Timberwolf, decent trail quad, not that powerful though. Well, we were at a big mud pit at the top of the mountain and we were having fun slinging it all over, then I saw a small mud hole over to the side where someone made tracks through it. So I locked the ol Eiger in 4wd and low and eased off into it some and then decided to back out. Not a good idea! It started sinking more and more and the bad part was that it was an incline so the front was stuck the worst. We exhausted ourselves for about an hour getting anything from scrap pieces of wood and rocks to wedge beneath the rear tires. It worked some, but suction is a huge factor. We only had about 7-8 inches to lift the rear before we could move the rear of the quad over onto the bank but the suction wouldnt let us...All the sudden I heard something loud and looked up and not 1, but 4 rock crawlers round the corner and it's almost like it was an act of GOD! usually there is no one else up there! One of the guys attached his winch and pulled the quad out effortlessly. I was so happy because I was about to decide to go all the way back down the mountain(30 min) drive back to my area(15 min) load up another quad and get a chain then come all the way back, then find a way to get both quads back down because no one else was around or available... After that event I decided no more attempting to get in some mud like that until a winch and some slightly larger tires. Anyway thought I would share my experience! Anyone else have any other "bad stuck" stories?

first night i had my vinson i picked up a buddy and we went ridding up some logging trails. we found some nice thick black mud about a foot deep and were buncing around in it for a while and then headed further up the trail. We rode untile it got dark and then started back when we got back to the muddy stuff I saw a fresh hole that we didint hit before. The vinson didint have even the slightest problem befor so i went and hit it straight on, but this hole wasent like the other holes. No this one was deep, really deep, and thick, no water just thick black mud that clings to every thing it hits and cloggs up your tires. As soon as I hit the the hole I knew it wasent the same so i just grabbed the throttle, and the mighty vinson started slinging mud everywhere, but it wasent enough all 4 tires dug deep and churned the mud into slop. as soon as we stopped moving I hit the brakes so it didnt sink any deeper. So now we were about two miles from the neerest house in the pitch black with no flashlight, no winch or come along, and a 600 pound quad that is sunk up past all 4 tires. the worst part was we could olny see about 20 feet ahead of us and 30 feet behind us. We found a strong log about 15 feet long an 4 inches aroiund and used it to pray the machine out of the mud it took us about 3 hours and we were seriosly considering sleeping in the woods that night and walking back in the morning. But anyway three hours later me finaly got it out and before we left I walked through the middle of the hole and went in up to my belly botton, My freind had to through the log we used to get the quad out across the hole from side to side so i could use it to get myself out. After ridding home we spent the next two hours getting all the mud out of my half day old vinson. The next day i ordered the warn winch.
