Lt230S Build up Questions LT300 Specs Suzuki
I am the proud owner of a 1986 LT230s. I am happy with it but as with all of my projects, I'd like to squeeze a few more ponys out of her. I have heard talk of putting a LT300 Cylinder on the 230 bottom end, thereby making it a 280. Has any one tried this yet? Does any one have the specs on a LT300 (bore and stroke)? Can I use the 230 head? I heard you can use the 250 head. Also I have heard of people using a 2 stroke carb? What kind / size would be best for my current application (stock) and a build up as mentioned. Does any one have experience with a Web cam? I am currently working on a custom yoshimura exhaust and k&n air filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really looking forward to surprising some of my friends.

I doubt you can use the head from a 230. I personally wouldn't add piston weight to the 230. I'd use the money and spend it on upgreading the internals of the motor. On the 230 the weak link in the motor is the conrod, and bearings. Life of these is going to be shortened with the extra weight of the larger bore piston. At the very least I'd get an upgraded rod, and new bearings. Webb cams are good. I'd definately stick with a 4 cycle carb, it be way easier to tune, and the 2 cycle, may not be able to made work. If by custom exhaust you mean from another bike I'd be wary unless it was a 250 4 cycle.
