The only thing I did to mine in the 4 years I owned it was change the oil. Actually, the original belt was still on it when I sold it.
I hate 3 things on the Vinson, the tires, and the front bumer, and the racks.
The tires as all of you know, just plain suck.
The front bumper has a lot of plastic and not much metal too it, needless to say, I cracked it when I rolled into a tree at 5mph
And the racks are very weak, bent the rear one when I started rolling backward into a tree, again going very slow.
The polaris had been rolled, flipped, drowned out, and came back for more,
I never bent or cracked anything on that quad, if not for the brush scratches when I sold it, it would have looked brand new.

As for the new 700's
It would be difficult not to sell both. It's always tough to predict how the industry will react to a model like the King quad. It's only smart to keep the twin peaks around because it's proven to be a good platform, and has sold very well. I would keep it around almost as an insurance policy incase the Kingquad falls on it's face.

1. Add A Bumper, Problem Solved.
2. Get New Aftermarket Tires. Problem Solved.
3. Get New Racks. Problem Solved. (Or A Rear Bumper)

I Wouldent Think That Bad Stock Tires. No Bumper And Bad Racks Would Make The Vinson Bad.
All Very Easily Fixed. Vinson Is Still A Great Bike.

Most people sell their polaris' after a few years. This is VERY wise. You never see any old Polaris'. They just don't last. I went looking at a sp330 when I was in the market. They had a little test riding place aroun back. Well also around back was this HUGE pile of 7,8,9 year old atv...Polaris'. Lots of trick stuff that doesn't last. I'm sure there are a few out there that are 5 years old with 500 miles on them.

I settled on a 99 KQ. Why, I saw lots of old ones still running, same basic bike for years, strictly needed it for poking around the deer lease and woods, wanted a regular shifter, realiability was the greatest factor. I got what I needed I believe. I'll let you know in another 10 years.

I stand corrected....there is one (1) old Polarsi out there.

Point is there aren't that many. To many breakdowns, parts cost to much, no resale value so people trash them or leave them at the dealers so they stack them up.

Gota love Polaris Bashing. It pops up in the darndest places. You’ll never be able to convince anyone that never owned a Polaris that it’s a bunch of urban legends and completely wrong, so just let them have there day with it. I ride with plenty of old Polaris’s. My father even has one of the original 1985 250 Trail Boss’s, is that old enough for ya? It runs like a top and is a lot of fun.
Really surprising you picked a Suzuki KingQuad over A Polaris though. The KingQuads are slow, heavy, ugly, rough riding and severely under powered. Not even fair to call them a quad, they are a lot closer to garden tractors then quads. A Co worker had one for sale and never could get rid of it. One trail ride with the big Sportsmans and he was hooked. He ended up just keeping it. Hasn’t ridden it since. That was 5 years ago.
Good luck with yours though, have fun.
The best thing Suzuki could do for the new 05 model is come up with a new name for it, the old one has a lot of unwanted baggage attached to it.

BigBearFX, I completely agree with the quad steeling. I find it hard to believe that Kawasaki can steel the Z400, color it green and call it there new Sport quad, it even still has the “Suzuki” logo cast into the engine.
Take another look at the Arctic Cat though. It is using the older 650 twin, not the newer 700, and it also has what Kawasaki forgot to install, independent rear suspension. Looks nothing like a Prairie either. I’ve never much cared for the quads Arctic Cat offered until this one. Its power, ride, ground clearance, 2inch receiver hitch, ect. Are all pretty impressive.

BigBear, I never said I didnt like the Vinson, I love it. And I did go to buy a new rack, $380, so there is no way I'm paying that much. What I am saying is that the polaris stood up to my abuse, whereas the Suzuki hasnt. The polaris also came will very nice tires, and the front bumpers were supported by steal, not just plastic. My next quad will probably be a Polaris, but not for another 2 years atleast.

Robnhouston,
I have yet to know anyone who has had problems will a Polaris, matter of fact, around my area, Polaris is the most popular manufacture.
