twist throttles suck on quad because they can get way out of hand on tight trails with lots of wups all so because i weigh a buck 50 and ride a zilla. i love a twist on a 2 wheeler. I live 5 minutes from sand

I am still getting used to having a twister on my quad. I didn't have any complaints until I went through a whoop section and almost lost it. My buddy just got a banshee with a twist throttle and he flipped it the first time out and bent an a-arm on the same whoops where I almost lost it.
What really sucks is that you can get an aftermarket twister for 30 bucks, but the only aftermarket thumb throttle I've seen is over a hundred bucks.

Here's what I did on my bike recently. Bought it with a twist throttle but after flipping it over me on a 40 degree dune I figured I wanted a thumb throttle like mt LT250 had. I noticed a lot of pro riders used the 250/300/400EX OE thumb throttles so I picked one up on Ebay for $20 and got an adjustable cable about $20 (its about 40 - 44 inches adjusted) and it works great! You can even get replacement billet covers to replace the Honda throttle cover for about $40 if you want to but it's obviously not neccessary.

I've got a twist on my lt250r and I must say it is a bit sketchy in the whoops. But I like it for tight corners, you can hammer on the throttle without having to adjust your grip like you do with a thumb throttle, but for just recreational riding, I would prefer the thumb control.
