Default 2001 king quad question

I'm new here, this is my first posting. I have a 2001 King Quad that I'm having a problem with. When pulling a long hill in high range in 3rd/4th gear the quad seems to run out of fuel. It will start to sputter for a few seconds then just die. It has done this the last few times I have taken it out. I have tried flipping the fuel valve to the reserve and even the pri position with no luck. It will restart after letting it sit for a few minutes. I read somwhere that Suzuki owners have found black plastic bits in the carb. Should I pull off the bowl and look? Any help would be great. Oh yeah it has 1000 miles on it, and I had the valves adjusted at 200 miles and it has a new spark plug and a clean air filter. Thanks!! Joe

I'd start from the carb bowl and work backwards. After 1000 miles, the chances of some water or crud contaminating your fuel is pretty good.

Thanks for the help. Does anybody know if I need to get any gaskets or seals when pulling the carb/bowl?
