Default Z250 mudguards

My Z250 mudguards have a few holes and one of the bolts ripped right through the mudguard. I would take them off, but then there wouldnt really be enough space behind the foot pegs if I slipped. I have looked for nerf bars that would go behind them but I didnt find any. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, when i took them off, the rear plastic got really wobbly, but I think I can fix that. But if anyone has some suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I'd definately keep the mudguards on, or find another way to protect your feet. You might be able to buy a set of nerf bars and then have some fab. shop modify them.

I'm not sure what they are made of. I'll have to check tomorrow when I get a chance.

Yes, you can weld aluminum to aluminum. I'll have my grandpa check out the footpegs tomorrow. He is a fabricator, so he would be able to tell what the metal is, and what welding rods to use.

my feet arent really slipping out, but i would feel alot more comfortable with something for my feet behind the footpegs. Anyway, how good did it stop the wobbling?

I was on eBay looking for some parts for my Z250 and I noticed in a picture that it had aluminum footguards. Here is a link to the picture on eBay. They are just barely in the picture, but I'm pretty sure they are aluminum.
