how much hp does the z400 put out
It all depends on who you ask
if its a raptor guy its like 5 HP, If its a 400ex owner its near 27(cuz the z only beats me a little bit) if you ask a z400 owner its around 5 or 6 hundred. :-D
the real HP is unknown really. Some kind of mass problem with dynos never giving the right numbers? Are you scared yet? I know i am!
If you are having to save up for the ritter kit, it was like 300 bucks when i bought it in 2000, it sgoing to take you forever to get a z 400 ) although that ritter cycle stage 1 will make your trail blazer run like crazy!(i loved mine!!)

dyno'ed mine stock ~29hp
avg of 3 dynos = 29.03hp
top = 29.3hp
low 28.7hp
i got an avg of 32.73hp on 3 run only after installing a K&N & CT Sonic full system.
all taken at rear wheels with 20" Hoosier TT tires on. i have the dyno slips at home somewhere, gonna have to dig em up. i just remember the numbers cuz they were easy.

Polaris500 - I think its the other way around the 400ex rider didnt know what he was doin in the races you were talkin about. My friend has a stock 400ex and he can beat piped Z's piped 400exs stock raptors. I dont know if its just his thats so fast for stock but it goes damn well for what it should be gettin killed by in races. Look what it comes down to is what I have seen and what you have seen so its all rider pretty much ...
