I know that the 04 frames have been updated and bartlett we have talked about this before you say they dident but the dealership that I work at that carries honda kawasaki, suzuki and honda say that it has. I know you dont feel that there is any improvement to the frame but I mx my z400 I have alot of mods including full suspension and Ive mxed all year and crashed it and you know what the frame did not break, nor did any of my customers that I sold zs to at the dealership I probally sold 30 zs this year and not 1 came back with a broken frame. I have seen tham break at the track but Ive seen others break also.

 

I'm deciding on a 400ex I guess. I found one (a 2002 yellow one) for $5000.00 OBO (canadian dollars). Do you guys think it's a good deal? Think I can get it down to 4000?

 

i don't know how much 5000 canadian dollars is but i can get a brand new 400ex for 5000 u.s. dollars.

 

I found an auction on Ebay that the guy states Suzuki replaced his frame. Thought it might help some people with broken/cracked frames. Auction # 2467482650

Gosh that was an old thread. It was terrible the way they were chewing up Bartlett. FYI, no changes were made in 03 for sure. I havent had the time to check on the 04, but I know 2 people, one with a z and one with a kfx, that have had problems on their 04 frames. The z guy rides freestyle and tricks. The kfx guy is just your average joe who runs the trails. Both have had factory replacements and gusseting done. No new problems since then.

 

lol I still know guys that have had frame issues on hondas and yamahas. its all how you ride them I say this over and over and over again I work at a suzuki dealer I bet ive sold 20 z last year and 20 kfxs and I have still only see one with issues and it was on a mxed machine I know it was me. Yes they did make improvements for 04 despite what some people say. They are thicker but you know everything has a weakness I also have 2 other guys that race with me and they have not had any issues after the crash I took that cracked mine any frame would have cracked. the crack that is on my frame was very small it was a hairline crack that you almost couldent see. Hey I love all machines so im not biast about manufactures but its not been a big deal unless you ride them hard.

 

barlett have you broken any since you gusseseted them? I cant remeber I know we talked a bunch about it?
