ATVMX, I have a LRD 440 kit in my z400 w/ yosh pipe + header. I have not raced a YFZ but judging by my wtec eraser racing the 440z I'd say that YZF would still be just alittle faster. You will be very happy with the Z400 even if its only stock.

well i want something really fast cause thats what im used to. i had an 02 ds650 that had about 7 grand US in it with tons of hp and a top speed of 86mph. id like to head in the MX direction now. (i have my own MX track..)

does anyone make a 450 kit for the Z?
what kind of fuel do u have to run with these kits?

All information and opinions would be appreciated.

FST built a 500 in one of the dirt wheels issues a while back. I dont know if they sell it to the public but they were saying is was a rocket.

If your not worried about the budget do the z400 with the Yosh. 450 stroker package. With the related bolton items from yosh. ie: exhaust, cams, cdi, and carb they were making in the low 60hp range. I want to say 62hp or 63hp. Thats a boat load of power on a 370lb quad. It's a true stroker package with new crank, rod, and piston. Not a big-bore kit like everyone else sells.

Thats a loaded question. How much faster then what? A stock Z? No comparision. A stock Z makes between 29-32hp. A full bolton YFZ is about 52hp. A built YFZ (all the boltons + high comp piston, cams, porting) I'm sure is into the 60hp range as well as the Yosh 450 kit for the Z400.

If your looking for top speed you change that with gearing. If you want a good trail quad the suspension is going to be more important then power. All the power in the world does nothing if you can't keep it in control. You haven't really elabirated on what your trying to accomplish.
