Default *** Z250 Owners - Has anyone had this problem??

I have had this bike for 6 months now and this past weekend we went to Dumont. My daughter was out wide open in 4th gear and all of a sudden the rear locked up and it stopped but the motor stayed running. Then it happened again while she was riding the ridge of a dune. Does anyone know what this may be caused from? I am taking it next week to the dealer to see what they may find out from it.

Thank you,

The only problem I have had with mine is sometimes it doesn't go all the way into gear or something, and then pops back out and seems like its sticking between gears like I'm holding the shifter up or pushing it down. But then if I let of the gas for a second it goes back into the gear that I was originally in. I'm not sure if it is the clutch or what.

same with me. Also i was wondering would the z250 be a good quad for a first race. I am thinking of trying some local races next year, not to do good, just to do it for fun. Im 13 just so you know.

I would make sure everything look ok on your drive shaft at the u joints! Maybe block up the back of your z and put in neatrul and try to spin your tires look at your drive shaft make sure everything tight! Just an idea, I have had no problems of this, just a little cold blooded here in Iowa that all!

Yes I just used my atv lift and ran it thru all the gears and noticed a grinding, wobbley sound from the transmission area where the shaft goes in. It does not sound good at all. I did notice when I start it up and put it in gear it starts to rattle just before it takes off, its been like this since new. Does all of your bikes do this? I would like to get all of your inputs on this if I can.

Thank you

Just inside your case on the z250 is a couple of beveled gears maybe they came loose or something, if not a mechanic would take it to the shop and let them try it out!
