Default vinson power?

has anyone ever put their vinson on a dyno? I know that they make 36 and change hp at the crank but how much of that gets to the ground. I also would like to find out how much difference a HMF pipe, K&N filter, And K&N jet kit would make in numbers. Mickey dunlop how much power is your 581 vinson big bore kit making?

V581,

What exactly does the "rhp" stand for. I know of only 2 types, "hp" = horse power and "rwhp" rear wheel horse power".

really, what do you have done besides the hmf and jetting? I didint think you had the big bore kit. Do you know how much the stock vinny puts on the ground? Also have you had any breaks with the 589 and lift? Hope you have fun with the 230 I rode one for lots of years and it was probly the highest mileage LT230 o the planet when i sold it. The last time I hopped on it both foot pegs fell off, Litraly, thats when I knew it was time to give her a break, so I found her a good home where she would be loved.

awesom, tomorrow for me is the day f truth, i am installing all the new top ned parts, piston rings and stuff.

i have had no breaks with the 589's and lift, i just get to laugh at alot of people when they are stuck and i am not lol

stock hp is around 34 i belive, about the same as the sp 500 h.o. the rubicon or rubix cube.... put 22hp not that much.

besides my parts listed. i have not updated in a while.

i have

fst cam,
retimed
port and polish
locker

Have you put any thought into the 581 kit, or heard anything about it? And what do you think about the works shocks. Where do you have your motor work done?

WHAT!!!!!?????

22hp increase isn't that much? My math tells me that's a 35% increase from the stock 34hp. All this from a polish ports (some), cam(some), retimed (SOP for a new cam), rejet and a pipe(some here).

Plus in case you didn't know as suzuki4ever put it the 34hp or 36hp is at the crank(actually couldn't find where Yamaha, Suzuki or Polaris post HP numbers). You posted a RWHP of 46. BUT!! RWHP is know to be 25% (or more) less than crank HP figures because power is lost in the tranny, diff, gears, clutches, etc. Now your 46RWHP becomes (conservative figure here) an eyepopping 58 crank hp. An equally eyepopping 70% HP increase over the factory.

Check out this site on the proper way to dyno a motor(at the crank). Not at the rear wheel. In this case the maxxed out $1200 stage V kit produced a 25% increase over the stock 500cc Polaris. Well below the 35% or even 70% crank hp you've got. Notice the pipe, carb (new not just rejetted) and cam only produced a 17% increase.

Now I've never said any of this isn't true. I'm just simply spelling out some of your numbers a bit more clearly. Maybe you should call these guys and tell them you secrets. Be sure to check my math....I'm pretty bad at it.

i did not say a 22hp increase. thats what i was stateing a rubicon has....

vinson stock is 34 at the rear wheels. mine is about 46 or 8 at the rear wheels. i have not done it at the crank yet.

i have thought about the 581 kit, but my motor is in perfiect shape, so i figure when i need a rebore, and wait till it needs work. i don't want to touch a motor that purrs perfiect.... but damn i gotta be able to get like 60 at the rear wheels. like 70 at the crank, i alread can pic the frount wheels up with ease. all i gotta do is be going like 10 and nail it and its up and i can ride it.
