It'll spank your 400EX. I think they're pretty good. I like the low, and wide feeling to them. I rode an EX after getting off my LT and the EX felt high and tipsy. Its not, but it felt like that. With straight paddles, i can still whip the rear end around like nothin' Mine's basicly stock, so I can't compete for the best quadracer. It looks pretty good though.

I have an 86 Lt250R and it is a very nice bike. Even with all the new bikes coming out, they can't match the performance of a older two stroke bike. I know this is gonna cause a huge argument, but this is my opinion. Dollar for dollar you can't beat them. The older bikes 85 and 86, had some reliability problems, or so I hear, but if you do it up right, it will run very well. The 400ex isn't even in the same category as the 'Racer and 250R's. The mags show how good they are, but match them up, and it's a night and day difference. The 400ex is a very good bike, but in it's own category, say a sport bike, not a race bike. A friend of mine owns one, and he has all he can do to hang with my racer and my brother's Banshee. Save your money, and buy a Quadracer, you will not be sorry...

i have a honda 250r and love it the little i do ride it (i hade it about a year and only have about 3 hours on it and most are from the Cochranton poker run) i think the TRX is better but the LT is a lot less $$$ and pretty much the same bike and i did ride a stock 400ex and was not as impressed as i wished i would of been it was still a great bike but did not have the arm ripping power that i like about my 250r i know my 250r does have mod's butt still i don't know if you saw the shoot out in atving.com that the did when it came out but i thought they said the 250r took a little lead and then the wonce the 400ex reved up it pulled a way it could of been other way away around butt i think my 250r would of had the lead frem start to the end. i dont think you will be drag raceing so drags arn't the most of what you need butt a good all around quad and you have an 6th gear when you need it to pul away from the 400ex'es i love the handeling of it and it is not to high.

i'd have to say that bang-for-the-buck, a lt250r is the best you'll come by, ever. they are quick, as quick in stock form as any stock 250r. as far as top speed goes, how often do you use top speed? on the dunes and in desert riding you do, MX stuff & woods riding you don't much. half the fun is the acceleration, the thing trying to pull your arms out of thier sockets.

as for my machine: '91 lt250r(immaculate), boyesen reeds, polished ports, K&N filter, fmf fatty pipe & powercore silencer, sand skate II's, fast trekkers, on douglass .125's.
mods coming as soon as i can afford them: annodizing, chroming, performance mods & custom billet aluminum parts....

My turn! I have a 88 lt 250r and a good list of mods. Here they go, Bills Pipe, Graydon Silencer, Boyessen Reed Cage, Port & Polish, Milled Head, Powder Coated Frame Dark Blue with Light Blue specs, Works rear shock, Dura Blue Axel, New Mair race PLastic, Renthal Bars, RM 250 Clutch Perch, Polished case covers, Graydon race kit(nerfs, grab bar, bumper), pro design kill. Thats all I have for now, I am waiting to get a 300 kit for it though!
