and i also run 10/30w mobil 1 synthetic.

 

I recommend Valvoline ATV Oil . You can get it at Auto Zone... 10w 40
and i run a wix 51359 oil filter available at Napa Auto parts

 

hey o3manual, why do you run 10/40? 10/40 is only for tems like over 110 degrees.

581......... I run 10-40 because that is what my manual recommends, and it is stamped
right on my clutch oil fill dipstick cover....... it gives me better protection in the summer, warmer
weather here in Missouri where the temp usually gets up over 90° on average. I do not do much
winter riding. Have you got your works shocks yet ?

 

It is very wise to run the oil that Susuki recommends. Especially on a newer quad where warranty could be an issue.

The only difference in a 10w-30 and 10w-40 is the 10w-40 offers more protection at a higher temp. Nice insurance. Starting viscosities are the same. Some of the newer oils (5w-30 recommended for my v10 ford) have new additives for improving gas mileage. Stay away from these in a quad.
