Z250 r 250Ex
Hey everyone,
I'm new here and first of all I wanted to say these are some great forums. However, there is some BS going around about these two machines. Like the guy who said that the 9.1" of ground clearance is from the highest point on the Z250. That's not right, the 9.1" is right at the pegs. The highest point is in front of the A-arms and is around 11". The lowest I have found is under the rear skid plate and is just under 7", which by the way is really close to the 250EX. But wait, you say, the Z has shorter tires, how can the rear ends have the same clearance? Suzuki stuffed the drum brake assembly into the right rear tire. So what does all this mean really? Nothing. It has been my expierience(sp?) that both quads get hung up on the rear diff skid plate in mud. So all this nonsense about ground clearance is a waste of time. As far as which is faster, who cares? When you're going through tight trails how often do you wind out fifth?
