Contemplating an 04 Z400, 0r perhaps a Raptor???
Help the new guy, opinions please.
I'm no racer & have no intention, just looking for a quad that will put a big grin on my face.
My riding will be a variety of trails, fields, dirt roads, and snow covered streets.
All my friends have 660 grizzlies, ect.. so I don't have a way to compare todays sport quads. No dealer demos around here.
Guess I'm wondering how the Z400 handles/feels compared to some of the other sport quads out there.
Other then riding friends 4X4's and my Honda trike back in the 80's, the only quads I've ever owned have been a Blaster with some mods and a Warrior I left pretty much stock.
Even though the Blaster was a bit small for me, it was a lot of fun. Sure it could have used a we bit more power, but I did like the way I could throw it around and drift it through the turns.
The Warrior seemed to under-steer no matter what I did. The Warrior was a little faster on top which was fun in the right places. It just wasn't as much fun as the little blaster.
I guess I'm looking for a quad that has the fun factor of a Blaster with the refinements of a higher quallity machine.
Faster is good, but I'd rather sacrifice a bit of top end for a machine that handles.
What say the ATV educated ??? What is the machine for me???
Thanks folks,
Regards.
