I've gotten pretty attached to my '96 250 4x4 quadrunner. 'Course we're both old so maybe that's why,LOL!! It plows snow well in the winter w/ a 54" blade and the wife and I ride it in the mtns a lot in the summer.

If you're not fussy about being the first to arrive at "B".

I'll never win any races but I just wanted a quad to slow trail ride, hunt/fish/camp, and work. I'm keeping my eye on the Rubicon as a possible future big bore quad, hope it turns out a good track record, it'll be at least a few years before I buy. I've been having a blast on my King Quad, it does exactly what I wanted it for, not to mention that I can't seem to run the thing out of gas!

have fun!
The KQ would be better in the mud than a Rubicon. The KQ not only has low range it has a ultra Low range when you engage AWD Diff lock.
Honda is the only company that has no diff lock sysytem. They did put it on the side by side Big Red but none of there 3wd ATVs have the option yet.

The only differeance between the 250 Quadrunner and 300 King Quad is the 34cc and the KQ has larger front wheels. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...cle1=27&go2=Go

There not big motored ATVs but with the 15 speed tranny they have they do not need to be.

The 300 is 50lbs heavier.

The 250 is a little narrower in the front... The cv joint axles in the front are shorter.

The 250 has stiffer ovate valve springs and a cdi that seems to have more advance and a higher rev limit.

They have slightly different cams

The 300 has a beefer rod which I believe is a bit longer too.

The 300 has an extra clutch disk

The 300 has a super beefy cam chain which I can't imagine would ever fail

There may be some other differences I haven't stumbled on yet.

Maybe the 250 doesn't have an oil cooler? The 300 does.

Power-wise, they're pretty close, but the 300 has much more potential to be built into a beast than the 250.

Using acceleration times over 350ft and F=ma equations, I calculated a 78% increase in power over stock on my 300. It sounds crazy, but that's what the numbers say.

800lbs from zero to 31mph compared to 1000lbs from zero to 37mph, both over 350ft.

As far as I know Honda just has a different type of diff lock system on it. I'm still not sure how it works but both from tires will be working as if a diff lock was on when they are spinning. On my 400 kingquad I can spin around in circles in 4wd in the same spot, with a Honda 420 I cant because of the front locking up.

I ride with a 500 Foreman and 420 rancher all the time and they always behave like this.
