Carbs for a 86LT250r
Alright I need some help picking out a carb for my quadracer. Over Christmas break my brother and I are going to tear down and rebuild our 250r. Our plans include a new piston, reeds, and getting the cylinder ported and the head shaved. So after all of this I talked him into getting a new carb. Right now I'm looking at a Keihin 36mm carb, but it doesnt say that its made for my year quad but I figure that it should fit, but my brother also saw in a magazine a carb that is jetless but we cant find it anywhere. Any info on which carb I should use would be greatly appreciated.

Evilash,
I run a Keihin 36mm oval slide on my 86. It is ported and polished with the head milled. It was a big help going from the stock 34mm minkuni. I went with the oval slide because I ride mostly woods. Call and talk to the tech people from the place you plan on getting it from for their suggestions. I bought mine through Denton Racing, they were extremely helpful. All my motor work was done through Trinity and I run their torque pipe too. Down one tooth on front it will pull the front end in 4th. Not too bad. Do buy a jet kit with it though. Mine is real sensitive to the temp, and I have to change jets for winter.
