Backfire

My friends 03 400 Eiger backfires when he lets off the gas. Any suggestions, thanks.

Check your plug. Probably running lean. Has he done anything to it like air box, exhaust etc.?

Check for air leaks in the exaust, check idle circuit mixture(it may be too lean), or low float level(which would also cause lean), or air leaks in the intake,

Good call. I ment check your plug, as in color. White=lean Brown=good Black/Carbon=rich. Usually when you backfire its because your running lean.
