Didn’t mean to offend you. It just seems to me that boring a quad 5 times in 10 years is a little excessive. If it’s never been seized, then why would you bore it so much? Loss of compression? Are you getting sand in your motor? If there were a reason why you need to rebuild and bore your quad every other year, you’d probably want to address the problem. But if you just like to bore out your quad, more power to you.

YFS - Is your 500 piped? You didn't say, but I'm assuming it is since bored. (I guess we've established that it's been bored) What pipe are you running and what size carb? What kind of plastic are you putting on it? It’s not Maier is it?
I’ve got a ’89 500. Since I’ve had it I put a nickel plated Paul Turner pipe on it, a Keihin 39 PWK carb, Pyramid reed cage, water temperature gauge (a must), Razor backs, and Sand Skate II’. The original owner milled the head, and bored it once over. (he seized it)

dominator you will see no improvements if u install a bigger aftermarket carb on your 500
unless u have a port job done on your bike where u would need that extra gas. ost stock carbs are ok and u can change the jets to suit your needs after market air filter pipe etc. Is your top end stock?

Dont get me wrong, I love the Quadzilla and my earlier statement may have been a bit off-base. I did in fact just get off my LT 250R and jumped onto the Quadzilla, which probably threw off my perception of the size of the 500. I would still think youd be hard pressed to take it onto some tight trails and woods though...

I agree with you 100% that it is a huge quad, I just dont think its like a tractor. I hate the quadzilla in the woods. Its terrible with a poor turning radius and too much low end power to shoot you off into the trees. I have crashed a few times just trying to keep up with a 300ex. It really shines for a more open trail or sand...
Which is bigger a quadzilla or the new DS650?

I cant honestly say who is gonna win that competition. The DS 650 looks and sounds like on bad **** machine, with unlimited hop up potential. I have contacted Ron Woods racing, who specializes in mods for the Rotax 650 that is in the DS 650, and he is going to send me his catalog. Just a little hint of things to come though. Cam swap no new news there), a possible stroker kit that pumps up the volume to 700cc's or so, a 5 Valve head(awesome) and ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION! I am going to withhold judgement, but on paper, the DS 650 looks pretty tough to beat. As far as size, alhough the quads may be similar in size, the DS 650 has a much sharper turing radius than the Quadzilla, even better than the "awesome woods machine" 400ex..

to all the quadzilla owners out there has anyone made a plate to set your tire rods back one inch they say it will give u better steering on the front end. can anyone one tell me the pros and cons of this and if there is a shop that makes this plate that extends your steering stem bracket where the tie rods bolt up to
