Default Suzuki tricks.....

Is there any other tricks, other then switching the gaskets to raise compression, that the Z400 has to make more power???

I just recently learned that switching to a 13 tooth front sproket from the 14 tooth stock sprocket will give you a noticable increase in power through 1st and 3rd. It'll give you more bottom end power, which of course is going to give you a little less top end power/speed. But I know I use 1st and 2nd wayyyyyy more than I'm ever in 5th and not usually in 4th, so it's a cheap mod that will make a nice difference if you can use the bottom end power and dont mind loosing maybe 2 or 3 MPH's in top speed... like me!!!

I got the 13 tooth on my Z, LOVE the added "power". Don't like the fact that you hit the rev limiter in every gear, but you learn to shift sooner. As far as any more less money mods you can get a pipe, re-jet, and new air filter, along with swaping the gasket.

My buddy already has the Alba full system, open air box jetted up with a K&N filter. He's about to do the gasket and was just wondering if there was anyother tricks. I'll let him in on gearing down his bike, and see what he thinks.
