Default What do you use to CLEAN SCUFFED and SCRATCHED plastic?

I cut my plastics today, Ill get some pics of the plastic on tomarrow. Im not sure that it is how it will look when i am done i kind of got all creative and it has teeth, lol. i have a little bit of finishing sanding to do but the plastic is far from gem condition to begin with so its not that big a deal. Im gonna get some plastic renu stuff i saw one type in dirtwheels where you sand the plastic with sandpaper and then apply the stuff. anybody have any sugestions on different methods of cleaning up used plastic cause i dont have anywhere near the money to get new plastic. It is just lightly scuffed and stained in most places I could easily sand out most of it but what do i put on it....

I just posted about my same problem. I did sand down some nasty, deep scratches but now I cant get the Shine back...

I tried buffing compounds of all types...didnt work. I am in the auto business with a full recon. department so I have access to lots of compounds.

I am curious to a good answer to your problem as well.

I had some deep scratches on my wifes Scrambler. I sanded it and it made it dull. I used a heat gun to remove the scratches the sand paper left. It also brought back the shine. On the real deep ones I heated it up and then used a putty knife to smooth it. Don't get it to hot or it will warp, go slow. After that I used some son-of-a-gun to make it shine even more. On my Vinson I used Armor-all to make it shine.

It's junk. Buy some sandpaper and work up to a fine grit, then hit it with Mop and Glo. That's all Plastic Renew is, floor wax and sandpaper. If you get gas or oil on it, it turns white. If you rub against it, it dulls and flakes. Liquid floor wax is much cheaper and will work just as good.
