i need some advice. my zilla has no spark. the plug is good. compresion is at 135 is this ok. i think the base gasket is blowed or partly blown. what is the correct compresion for a zilla and what to check first for a spark. you allways have to roll it off till it is warm then it fires. we rode it for 20 min and it was ok. then we tried to roll it off and it would only hit once in a 50yd pull and now no spark at all. help.

you could have a weak spark. Even though you test for it the spark may not be hot enough to fire the engine, I would test the cap for proper spark. I know it sounds stupid but have you tried a new plug, I had a similar problem that a new plug solved.

do you have an ohm meter anthony?if you do you can check the ohm values of the stator and the cdi box to aid in tracking down the problem.i dont remember the exact ohms.i could run down to the shed and get them sometime.........too cold here now..-20......brrrr

If you think the base gasket is blown... DO NOT RUN IT!
You need to buy/build a leak-down tester and test it for leaks, and repair any you find BEFORE running the motor...
Then you can troubleshoot your electrical issues.

Leaky base gasket=lean condition=kaboom!! You'll have alot more issues than just weak spark at that point!

My $.02

Need your stator rewound? Ricky stator comes to mind. Wouldnt not having a spark posibly be corolated to a stator that isnt creating electricity for the spark?
