If you are going to ride that quad in the Alaskan winter, you have to jet fatter (at least a few sizes). Otherwise, you will burn down again even with your intake fixed. Also, I would be VERY surprised if your cylinder doesn't need to be bored after your mishap. It will cost you another $50 but adding a new piston to a scored/out-of-round cylinder will be a waist of time and money. You'll just be tearing the thing apart again in the near future. It will probably work fine at first but a bad cylinder will cause rings to wear rapidly and/or catch a port.

well i checked out the cylinder it is fine , i also had a one of my friends check it out and he said it was fine just got to hone it and it's ready for a new piston and rings, and also, it does knot harm the motor at all in the cold weather ive been riding in the cold for year's and so has every body in my town, iv'e ridden in much colder weather and it has done nothing to harm the motor at all thank you very much

i would go with 1 size over bore from the that u have too be on the safe side.your lt has cast iron sleeve. cold weather has alot to do with cold seisure from not enough warm up time. i had many 500's from the past ,some where air cooled, some liquid cooled. the liquid cool ones took longer to warm up even where i live. the only engine problem i had with my lt was 2 cold seisure's.not properly warm up!. it happened many year's ago,but the stock piston did far less damage, the weisco forged piston tore up the head badly.so take your pick.the bad carb boot was your main prob'.a new rebuild & intake boot will work wonders. ps 1 over will help with ring seal.better safe then sorry.
