I finally saw a YZF yesterday. I ran him in wet loose dirt and outweigh the YZF rider by at least 50lbs. He slowly crawled away from me. I expected to get my a$$ handed to me. He beat me but not by much even with a rider weight and traction advantage. It was real fast for a 4 stroke and handled real nice but not the fire breathing monster all the online hype led me to believe.

Anyone else ran a YZF on a LT250 or 250R?

 

at last were getting some real feedback on the new yam, did the guy let you have a go on it??

He said the YZF was stock mine is as listed below. I could tell just from watching him ride that it handled good. I wouldn’t have minded swapping quads for a race to see how it does with a 245lb rider against mine with an under 200lb rider. I didn’t ride it though, there were a half dozen guys there checking it out and I don’t know the guy who had it so I didn’t ask.

 

My brother has a YZF with a Yamaha Y-2 pipe and jet kit w/lid removed. Shortly after he put on his pipe we raced, He gets me off the the line that thing really hooks up I take off in second but after I hit 3rd its all over, the zilla just spins to much off the line, I told him wait till were in the sand and you wont touch me. 3 weeks latter we went on a dune trip to patton valley he runs haulers and I run Sand skate II's. From start to finish I had him. It sure is a fast quad for a 4 stroke tho. I dont like the seat on the YZF its to hard, but its supose to be a race bike and not meant for puttin around i guess.

 

me and my freind donnie ran our 400ex's with a yfz and a preditor on our cross country type track that we made. we all had really horrible traction, but niether the pred or the yfz gained any ground on us. So i just had to drag race them. i beat the pred (stock) and the yfz rode my azz the whole drag untill the end were he slowly creeped past me. oh and the yfs was piped, im not sure if he had anything else done. my freind donnie didnt even attemped to drag race them, all he has is a yoshi pipe and a k&n air filter

 

400ex boy its not too hard to beat a raptor there buddy...i beat one with a blaster so dont feel special...and for the rest of you say how you kicked all these yfz's...the thign is even if you did actually beat them...they were all stock or had a pipe while yours are worked...hmmm lets think...sorry but a yfz will own your *** if it was worked like yours are
