Default quad nuts bolts set

Is it better to buy one of those 452 piece nut and bolt sets off of ebay or go thru the manufacturer?

Thanks,
Alan

I bought one of those stainless cap screw sets and it is a big improvement over the stock steel phillips head bolts. They make the engine look real clean. If you have a source for those bolts locally you might be able to save a couple of bucks but you'd have to match each one up. Not really worth the effort IMO.

I bought the stainless steel set off of e-bay. The guy who sold them to me does a awesome job in packaging them......every thing is bagged and labeled as toi where on the machine it goes......very nice set also....all stainless steel. The price for oem nuts and bolts is outrageous...... you have to be either rich or out of you mind to spend that kind of dough on that.

Just to let you guys know the only downside to those stainless kits is they are only grade 4 bolts, where factory are grade 8, and if you look on ebay you will find people that sell non-stainless kits, that are a mix of grade 8 (stock) with some stronger Grade 12 bolts where needed. Just FYI

Those bolts only hold down covers, they have plenty of stregth for the application. I broke/stripped more than one of those grade 8 bolts that were rusted in place.

Sam250, I understand that the bolts are just holding down covers, but you said that you broke some of the 8.8 hardware that was rusted? Of course you would break some if they are rusted in place, what i dont understand is your trying to tell me that you broke some of the stronger 8.8 grade material, so lets replace it with a weaker material??? I did look around and there are equivelant grades of stainless BUT they are more expensive and there is no way its what you are getting on ebay, thats prolly som guy going to lowes and putting some kit together... easy away to make money actually... and you also said that its only holding on covers, the kit i was looking at was all the bolts minus one of the motor mount bolts and the swing arm bolt, that means the calipers, the bearing carrier etc arent improtant.. I am not trying to make myself out to be an ***, i am persoanlly redoing my quad right now and looked into these and might actually go for the higher grade stainless in the future for the look, but i wouldnt feel safe doint the riding i do which doesnt really include any jumps like i hear people on here say they hit, that would scare the hell outta me... just my .02
