I would take the King Quad any day of the week and twice on Sunday over a Honda 300 4x4. They are not in the same class as far as I am concerned. While the Honda is a wonderful machine it lacks the very features that made the King Quad stand out. Tops on this list are manual selection for 2 and 4 wheel drive, high, low and super low range, and of course the locking front differential. The Honda is full time four wheel drive, no 2 wheel. They engines are basically the same size and both are top qulity.
My 4-wheelin' buddy rides a Honda 300 4x4. While the machine has never failed him he does need the tow strap quite a bit.
As far as which one would be most available on the used machine market.....I would have to say the Honda because to the best of my knowledge more Honda 300 4x4's have been sold than any other machine. They were a top seller for 10 years. There are probably 15 used Honda 300's out there for every used Kinq Quad.
Depending on your budget I would look into new King Quads. Because most buyers look for larger engined machines the King Quad has really fallen by the wayside. In my neck of the woods they advertise 2000 King Quads for $4695. When I bought mine I was able to make a deal with the dealer for $4800 out the door for the machine, cv guards, a winch bed, rack extensions, and sales tax.

My father owns the Honda 300 4x4 and I own the Suzuki King Quad. We are always busting on each other about which one is better. But when it comes right down to it, I think the KIng Quad takes the lead. With the way the gears are set up and the way the 4x4 is set up (With the diff. lock and all) I would say go with the King, but the honda is good too. But like I said, I would go with the king.

No doubt about nit the Jonda 300 is a great quad but when it comes down to the features the King Quad will take over. As far as the Suzuki 250 it is basically a KQ with a smaller motor. No difference in speed.
KQ-47-51mph
Quad. 250 almost same
Honda 300 45-50mph Hop this helps. THESE NUMBERS MIGHT NOT BE COMPLETELY ACCURATE BUT THEY MIGHT BE RIGHT.
