Got new Eiger today and got a nice surprise

I had decided on buying a new '03 that was still new at the dealer for $4500 OTD(4x4, green auto). Since it was still new and an '04 was $4800 OTD at other dealers but a much further drive(I still drove 6 hrs roundtrip to buy this one but went to Bass Pro Shops so it was worthwhile) I just thought saving the $300 was a better deal. When I got the VIN number yesterday to get insurance on it my agent said the VIN number matches up to an '04. The 10th# in the VIN corresponds to the year and in this case was a 4. I show up at the dealer today and sure enough I see the prewiring for the winch under there. Re-check the VIN on the quad and same one. Go to finance dept with my cashiers check in hand and paperwork shows it's an '04.
Guess my $4500 turned out to be a sweeter deal than I thought. Of course I didn't say anything to them. Not sure how they could have made that mistake. Going riding tomorrow

I love a story with a happy ending. Or is it a great beginning? Anyway congratulations! You'll love this machine!
BTW did you see the article in ATVaction? They love this machine. They said the 5 speed will hang with a P650.
That should get some kaws howling

I'll attest to that. I always ride in the company of my brother who has a P650. In the woods the bikes are equals - He's pulled me out of mudholes at times and I've done the same for him.
Now, once we get out into the open and hit a fire road........All I can see is this tiny P650 roaring out into the distance trailing a cloud of dust.................then just the cloud of dust..............then a clear road.

As a P700 owner I comepletely agree with you on the Eiger, it is an awesome quad. I had a chance to ride one on the trails and it was alot of fun. I'm a sucker for the v-twin in the p700 but I want an Eiger to join the stable.

I just changed my plug and adjusted my valves and cleaned my carb and installed a fuel filter and changed my oil today. WOW I didn't realize how bad it was running until I took er out this afternoon. I was embarassed by my buddies p360 and just thought that they were that close, but no more!!!
The Eiger will only run about 55 and I KNOW a 650 will fly past that. But on the trails the E is so much fun! AND 2K cheaper!!!

Congrats! You'll love this quad, awsome ride!
I did all that tune up stuff at the end of last season. Only took it for a couple of rides (short ones) after that, but I know what you mean about feeling the difference.

Congrats on the good deal.! Just got my Eiger '04 this past month. Took it out to Ca desert for first time. I could keep up and outrun P500's and Grizzly , also was able to climb soft 200ft dune farther than a Honda 400ex. Yamaha can kiss my a**! also. Eiger was my best decision I ever made. I am getting my wife one too!!!
