I really don't believe it has 1500hp,maybe your thinking CC'S,My ex brother-in-law had a Zilla with a GS1100 cc built to a 1540cc with nos and did not have 1500hp.

Info on an Abrams tank....

Monster trucks also produce about 1500hp. Must be some kart.

 

Actually an abrams can go faster than that. They can get up to around 60mph.

 

It's a hydrogen-peroxide gas turbine .. the "engine" of this thing spins up to 85k rpm and turns the wheels through a planetary reduction gear similar to what you'd find on a tracked crawling vehicle (i.e. excavator). Reduces the wheel speed to 4500rpm I believe the page said? But then, it also said that the speed of the wheels was 7000 rpm .. which is it?

Looks pretty fast, but not fast for something with 1500HP and almost negligible weight .. perhaps they didn't crack it open .. at the end of the video it seems like they did that and the thing flew apart!!
