Tough King Quad
#1
My 16 year old on his first run on my KQ rolled it this weekend. Luckily he was not hurt. I had the throttle limitor set
The KQ didn't suffer too much damage. The top bar on the handle bar got bent into the speedometer, and the left front fender housing got cracked an inch near the headlight. The housing also pulled off from the rack bolt.
Had only 160 miles on it!

Here we go again, another parent sending their children out on a quad without the proper training. Our sport [ATVing] has allready got a bad rap from the tree hugging idiots out there that want the woods all for themselves and closed to ATVs.
Would you hand your son the keys to your car and tell him to go anywhere he wished?Without proper training?I hope your answer to both questions is NO.
In the wrong hands, and without the proper training and guidelines of a certified trainer,ATVs ARE dangerous. No one should EVER be allowed to ride any ATV without obtaining proper training.
There are many areas that need to be covered before ever riding an ATV,which include, but are not limited to
1.Allways wear a helmet
2.Take a ATV saftey course
The saftey course probably will cover allmost everything I would be telling you to obtain before riding a ATV.Please---TAKE THE COURSE,we need you safe and on our side,

I think you need to gather all the facts before putting this guy down. For all you know his son might be a better ATV rider than you are! He said it was his first run on his KING QUAD, not his first run on any ATV. Even the best riders sometimes get in tight situations & roll or wreck an ATV. I have nothing against endorsing ATV safety but you need to get a little info before you flame somebody.

Rambler,
No offense here, but ANYONE who sets the throttle limiter on their quad before allowing their 16 yr old to ride it, shows me that they doubt or question the riders experience. If you read his opening post correctly,he had the throttle limiter set. This clearly indicates his sons lack of ATV experience,so I can HARDLY expect that his son is more experienced than myself[Riding since 1970]].How much more information do I need to see than the allready obvious signs of inexperience?
If you felt I was ''flaming'' him,im sorry you felt that way.If attemting to talk a fellow ATVer into a safety training course after reading about his sons first ride with an accident is flaming, than perhaps it's your lack of experience that we see.
Sorry Rambler,''BUT THE FROSTINGS ALLREADY ON THIS CAKE'' enjoy your ride, and please ride safly,===Bill
