Where is the air intake on the King Quad? I would like to know how much water/mud I can get into before I will be in danger of drowning my little billy goat.

Thanks for the help fellas/ladies.......

Archer, that's one area you don't have to worry about. These little gems are built like APC's (Armored Personnel Carriers). They just don't drown too easily. The airhorn is right behide the gas cap. You shouldn't go into water higher than the tires. This will protect your airhorn from taking on water-- we hope! But there are times when you can't tell the hole is getting deeper. The KQ has two traps, before the carb to catch the wet stuff. When I know I'm too deep, I make sure to empty the traps immediately after getting out of the water. Usually, only the trap located at the back of the quad, is the only one with water. Remember! First, don't go in water deeper than the tires are high... I've got a feelin' you already know this stuff...

As usual the owners manunal does not give me all the info. that I need. How do I check/empty the traps? I love riding through deep mud and water but I always worry about getting water or dirt into the engine. I always keep up on maitenence on my machine but all the maitenence in the world won't help if I do something stupid.

The air intake on the 2000 King, is about 2 inches lower than the gas tank cap, and only about 2 inches away from it, uner the cowling.

Archer, you should contact me personally. Then I can give you information about how to check the tubes. Only because I don't want someone else reading and miss inturpute what I'm saying. They or you could screw up and I don't want that to happen. So contact me at Ecorman1@aol.com, and I'll give you the info I know.
Have a nice day...
Chuck
