Eiger Warranty
#1
Do you guys think the extended warranty is needed or are the eigers pretty much trouble free? I have an 04, 4x4 - 5 speed.
My original warranty is about to expire and would like any and all opinions. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
If you already have at least 1000 miles on er then I would say that whatever will go wrong prolly already has. Are you capable of fixing it if it breaks?
My dealer offers a couple free services (oil changes) if you purchase a warranty. You don't have much bargaining power since you already have the machine so you'll pay full price.
My experience with the Eiger is that the stuff covered under warranty usually holds up. The basic problem seems to be getting junk in the carb and thats not covered under warranty. A good dealer may not charge you for this but since it is an hour job they prolly will.
If you haven't already, take er in and have them give er a complete going over. Check the valves, service it, etc. It will probably cost $100 to have done but then you will know everything is right. Then order a service manual (about $40). All this will be less than $200 and you should be ready to go for many years.
Go to the top of the forum and type in Eiger in the search box and you will see every problem ever experienced on an E. You may have to search thru several threads but when you are done you will know more about your machine.
I'm not going to tell you to get it or not, that depends on you and your level of comfort (piece of mind). But, yes, they are pretty much problem free.
