I would like anyones suggestions on this topic good or bad, I can't deside on which bike to get and would be using it for: mud running, gravel pit climbing (hill climbing), pulling around a dump box sometimes, ect... If those things will help your opinion on which you think is better!

THANKS!!

Well, I owned a 1995 King Quad for 3 years, and then traded it in for my current 1998 Quadrunner 500. I really liked the king quad, but it just lacked raw power! It held its own for the most part, but now that I have the 500, I dont think I would ever go back to a king quad unless they stuffed a bigger motor in one! Overall I like the 500 better! I thought at first I might miss not being able to put it in 2wd v. having full time 4wd on the 500. But I dont miss that feature abit!

Last weekend I saw a guy with a brand new Quad Runner 500 out on the mud run. I went through some deep mud with some difficulty. He went through the same with no problems. When I tried it a second time in some deeper trouble, the guy on the 500 had to pull me out. Then he went through that hole too. What really bothered me was that he had the same tires I have. STOCK!

Ecorman and Bloodtrail just said it all.I was riding with Ecorman and he is telling it like it is.Nothing can replace the larger CCs of any quad.I'd hate for you to buy the KQ and than later find out you wished you had bought the larger CC quad.I had a 87 and 97 KQ and will never go back to the smaller CC quads again.Ecorman forgot to tell you what the 400cc Xplorer did in the same mud pit as the 500cc Suzuki? [I just HAD to throw that in]======Bill

I in fact hope to get a QR500 soon, but I'm very happy with my '95 KQ. Went swamp riding on the fourth with two friends, one with a Honda 300 4wd and the other with a QR500. I pulled both of them through muck that I went through first. In my opinion the only reason the KQ did better than the 500 was my Titan 589's in back and front diff lock. There is almost no substitute for CC's, if you put some aggressive tires and a lift (options which are either not available or an expensive trade off on the KQ) on the 500 that thing would be unstoppable.

Thanks Maxout! I'll try the tires first, on my KQ 300. The Rubicon cost a bit more and there's no diff. lock... But you have a real nice machine. Assuming you do own one?

Hey 102, a friend of mine just puchased a leftover 1999 QR500 last week. It looks and performs great! As a matter of fact, we rode about 40 miles yesterday and almost 30 today. I was really suprised at the speed and agillity of this 500. It also did outstanding in the mud, mud and did I say mud? Let me just say that we put it through the paces and we were not disappointed.
Hope this helps you deceide. Have a muddy day...

dont you miss super low, independent rear suapension, and differential lock that a quadrunner 500 just dont have i would go for the king any day i can put my king any where 500s and 600s can go except up long drawed out twisty steep loose or muddy hills but also not many quads can go up the hills im talking about rock crwaling and mudding is where my king comes in with irs and diff lock it climbs rocks beutifully but now when it comes to mud it does real well too but you really need to get those dunlops off of there they dont help lets just say that
