I have an 87 and its just hard to start it aint the cold and it aint your spark if its like mine. Are you using the compression release if you do its almost impossible to start with out it being 75 degrees if your big enough kick it hard with out the compression realease but if your like me and not pull it behind a car goin like 10 shift to 5th and dump the clutch it will start everytime like that.

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU GOT SPARK BY PULLING YOUR SPARK PLUG OUT PUT ON THE WIRE AND GROUND IT TO THE CYLINDER AND KICK IT OVER IF YOU GOT SPARK CHECK COMPRESSION WITH A GUAGE... GOOD LUCK
