I wondered what the good and bad points of the lt250r, and lt500's are. also, without taking price into consideration, which one is a better all around quad.

Fotr all around riding I would say the 250.My dad has a 87 LT500R and lett me tell U I would not want that as my only qaud to ride.I like riding around and just messing around.BUt it is a pain in the rear to start It may have somethijng to do with me weighing 135.I can stand on the kick start lever and it won't go down.It is very wide and would be a bundle to comtrol in the woods. If U want a banshee eater this would be a set up.MY dad's has only lost to one banshee and lrd370R.They were racing in sand and the other guy had paddles.MY dads is bored .080 over and has a a couple other things like a ram valve FMF GS pipe,pc2 silencer, nerfs, bumper,IT is a beast that is for sure U can shift into 4 and pull the front tires!!!!

i have a lt500r and would not trade it for the world. once u ride that machine there is nothing else that can give u the rush like this machine can. all others unless modified leave u wanting more power after u ride this bike. I admit in the woods it can be a handful but i don't ride to fall asleep i want a challenge in the dunes it is where it is truly in its element. there is nothing more fun then racing a modified banshee and pulling away and watching his jaw drop open. especially one who is new to the sport and doesn't realize what i am riding until it is to late.

if ur lookin for a trauil race bike or a race bike(especialy flat) the lt's are the best, but if your goin to be riding tight trails, they not that good, they're very wide and low so if ur riding back yard tight trails they're not good. the lt 250 is the best of the both, it's almost as fast as the 500 and it's a little bit more smaller thogh. but if your looking for a race quad or a fast quad, lt's are ur quad, they're cheapr and fast than the trx250r.

lt 230 quad sport (decked out and beyond)

If you are trail riding i would say the lt250. Although i can get through most trails and i have a +3 axle on my zilla. The zilla is a ruch to ride and once u ride the zilla an lt 250 wont ever be the same. There were a couple problems with the lts the swing arms will crack around the piviot bolt. I replaced my swingarm with a-2 inch. Email if you need any more info on the zilla. and check out my link below for pics of my 87 zilla
