Default Suzuki Z400 or Yamaha Raptor?

I can't make up my mind between the Z400 or the Raptor. It'd be easier if I could test drive them first. I went to a local dealership and sat on both of them. They both feel great! I really like the red and blue frames on the Raptors. Anyway, I'm 115lb female rider. I'll be doing trail riding and some sand dunes. I can find both quads used about the same price, maybe the Z400 a couple hundred more. I heard some people say the Z400 handles better, but I'm still not sure which to get. The Raptor seat sits up 2 inches higher also. Any advice as to which is the better ride, handles better, etc, would be appreciated!
Thanks!

A female rider thats awsome! I would say the Z for trail. Dirtwheels did a shootout between both of them in Trails, Dunes and MX. The Z won overall. The only place the Rap won was in the Dunes casue of its bigger engine. The Z has better handleing and is more rider friendly. It is more comfortable also. It is a better bike than the Rap as dirtwheels said. It takes more energy and muscles to control the rap. There both good bikes though.

For your size I would definitely go with the Z-400.
I can not say enough good things about them.
Don't forget your other color choices, the Kaw and Artic Cat bing the same quad.

yeah you would definitely be happier with a z. my buddy owns a raptor and he is a pretty small guy. he has a hard time controlling it on the trails when i just throw mine around. plus after a days riding he is dead tired and im still ready to ride. if you were bigger i might be unsure but for your size the z is way better. it's also comfortable and has great handling. don't forget the kfx and artic cat.

Thanks for all the great info. I think I'm going to go with the Z400. If anyone knows of any used ones for sale around IL, WI, IN, let me know. They're pretty hard to find. Can't see spending the big bucks on a new one.
I'm glad to hear about the Z's handling. That's pretty big to me.

I just bought a 2004 z400 about two months ago, I weigh 250lbs. and it still hauls *** on just about any terrain. I stepped up from a yamaha warrior and I am still amazed by the huge differece in power. At a 115lbs., I garantee that it put your eyeballs in the back of your head!

I went to the dealership with the money to buy a Raptor and nobody was changing my mind.So I thought.Once I got there they only thing I couldn't decide on was between the (limited edition all black) or the (white and red) Raptor.I got to chatting with a guy that works there and he ask me why I chose the Raptor 660R.I smerked and said I know wich atv I want and your not going to change my mind.He says really. He started to try to sell me on the Z/KFX400 and I said to small engine I want the mighty 660R and plus the Raptor is the meanest looking to boot.He says well the Z/KFX will out handle and keep up with the Rappy.I said well I don't beleave you, thats a 400 v/s 660 der...He said well maybe if you test ride them both it will help you decide on wich atv you are looking for. There is a 03 Raptor 660R and a 03 KFX400 in the back. The KFX400 is mine and the Raptor 660R was a trade in and was already sold to a customer.
I rode them both for about 30 minutes a peace in the back were they had built a little MX track and a few trails and was sold on the KFX in every catagory.
