Low vs. High Range on Eiger
#1
When is best time to use Low range. What about trail riding under say 15mph. Should you always be in Low even if not doing anything technical. Want to preserve all working parts by doing the right things and the manual doesn't talk much about when to use low range. Thanks

If your lugging the motor then use low. When I have a big hill to climb I use low to make sure I have all the power I need. Mud bogs would need low too. Basic trail riding will get old if the Rpms are running high so you can go 15mph. If you come to an obstacle that may require extra power then stop and shift.
DON"T SHIFT WHEN IN MOTION!!!!!!!
Most of the time high is fine, you don't want to be in low at 4:20

Low range used when your load on the motor is more than typical. It's a situational choice which gets easier w/ experience. Breaking trail in deep snow. Towing a trailer or another atv. Going up or down a steep trail. Rock crawling. The capability (and utility) of any atv with a low range is so much more than one w/o. Try it, you likey long time. Now go take on the day.

my buddy bought an eiger and he never used the low range sence he got it. if it wont go through something he hammers it and keeps it there intil he gets out. kinda wondering if he needs a new belt yet. is the eigers tranny tourq sensing because im thinking its not because it really lugs down on the engine when under alot of stress where my polaris wont. or my friends bombardier

Well, of course the 500 ho polaris isnt going to bog down where the 376cc Eiger will.
I'm looking into EPI's spring kit to see if I get better backshifting and initial torque. I know it made a helluva diff on the p360 auto we did a few weeks ago. I'm holding out right now to see if I am getting 26"ers or not. They have a diff spring kit if you run bigger tires.
