stock for stock the power goes to the suzuki. At full potential the trx has the most potential because it has so many mods available. The trx also has the best chassis of the two. I don't really know hp, sorry.

I own an lt but have riden both. These bikes are probably the most all around similar bikes. As far true stock hp numbers who knows but they are both great machines and very upgradeable( Ive seen 29 stock horsepower come up a few times). Yeah the honda may have an edge in handling but not much. The one thing i dislike about the honda is that people think they are gold and charge alot for a good used one. Honda has more parts available.

yea stock for stock more HP goes to the LT cause it is a powervalve engine and the TRX is not. the geometry on the TRX is supposed to be better for racing but I havent ridden either personally so I cant tell you. Thats been the general opinion by a number of people I've heard from. I like my Zilla I know that

I will throw my 0.2 cents in....

I own a 1990 LT250r and perfectly happy with it, YES ive had to fix and buy alot of parts for it and continue to do so periodically. Alot of folks rag on the LT saying they break down a ton. Well YES they do, but so do Honda 250r if they are neglected and abused like alot of the LT's around.

The Honda 250r handles MUCH better in race applications than the Zuki, but for everyday riding like I do, i felt it was better to place my money in the zuki. The parts are harder to come by. IF your not racing your quad and have the proper money to rebuilt it, i say the lt250r is a sweet bike that most people dont have. Thats one of the reasons i love it......

LT because of the power valve like they guy said above. but if i was giving the chance again i would take my R back because of parts availability and hop ups.

Ive never seen one of those in person but yes there are a few around...Tecates do look sweet tho...in an idea world i would own 1 LT250r, One Tecate 250 and one Honda 250r!

Honestly i now own my LT for a couple of reasons...

1. I hate having the same thing everyone else has
2. My old man would never let me have one when i was in high school (they were in thier prime then).
3. I love them!

Last time I saw a Tecate was more than 10 years ago but all I saw was the back of it as it flew by me. I've heard they handled very poorly tho.

Mr. Jones got it right. Once my lottery numbers come through, My garage will be the new home for an 88 Tecate, 89 R and a 92 LT. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze a YFZ in there too.
