hey i have a 04 z400 with about 30 mins on it and its leaking gas from the carb bowl i think its the vent tube???? why ??? please help guys it only does it win u ride it for about 3 mins then stop it will leak a little.

Did you buy it new? I'd get it back to the dealer. If it's leaking out of the tube on the bowl, there's a screw to drain it, make sure it's tight. The only thing I can think of is the floats adjusted to high, but I'm not a carb guru...

 

The float needle and seat may be held open by a piece of dirt. I think youre going to have to open it up and look, or make a trip to the dealer...if its under warrentee.

 

yes its new talk to them today sat. i think i will take it back to them to look at it the screw is tight.

 

I just started up my 03 Z400. Won't stay running and gas is pouring out of the tube coming from the bottom of the carb. Did I just get myself into a major project? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

did u check the screw on the leaft side of the carb is tight i opened the screw on mine and let some gas out of the carb and its help i think mine had some dirt or something in it but mine not leaking any more.

That screw was tight. I called my buddy, and he told me to try tapping on the side of the carb, as the float might be stuck. It worked!! Thought someone might be interested in this, in case they have a similar issue.
