Default quadracer questions

-how many hours do you usually get inbetween rebuilds on these?
-will the 87 reed cage fit the 89's?
-how much does a common top end rebuild cost? and a bottom end?
-are there any companys that make wider aftermarket a-arms?
thanks.

I have a 500 and cant belive there would be much of a diff. between the two.
Usally about 1 season, about 100-150 hours I replace my rings. You can get about two maybe three ring changed out of a cyclender if yer nice to it. 100 to 150 hours is actually a lot more then you think. You may go riding for 3-4 hours but you engine time is prob. only about 2 hours with smoke, bs breaks and so on. I got a trail tech spedo from Rocky Mount, and was amazed how much time I acutally screwed around more then rode, any hoot
I have no idea about the cage diff. I know 500 where diff.
rings=20-30 bucks
piston and rings about 80
hone job 80-100
bore 120-150
lonestar and Laeger still love the quadracers and I am sure they still make + a arms for her.

Chromezilla goes to an expensive machine shop.
I did an entire rebuid for $200
$100 for piston, $60 for bore and hone, and $40 for gaskets and top end bearing.

How often you do it depends on your riding habits. I wouldnt mess with ring jobs, when your compression starts dropping off, then do a top end job. Once every 3-4 years should be fine. It takes me that long to put 150 hours on. If you top end is on its original bore, you can get 4 more bores out of it, so even if you do it every two years, your good for 8 years.
