i was wondering if when anyone was breaking in their z if they fouled out a lot of plugs. my idea was that since i have to go slow for 10 hrs that the gas might not burn off quick enough and over time the gas build up might cause the plug to flood and foul. anyones opinion would be greatly appreciated thanks

 

Maybe your gas mix or the gas your using has too much oil in it. Or your getting too much gas. I would check with your dealer while its in warrenty. Just because its new doesn't mean nothing can go wrong.

He has a z so it is a 4-stroke -> does not have to mix gas and oil. I think it should be fine but have a few spare plugs just incase, i havent heard of that happening.

 

Your fouling plugs? Are the soaked in gas? are they black? I have never heard of a 4-stroke fouling plugs during break in period. I would try gaping your plug a little closer for a more intence spark.

 

thanks for the responses. the first plug fouled out because the store left the choke on and i didnt know it and dont laugh but the second time i ran out of gas and was in too much of a rush to get to work i didnt check the gas. That plug is fine. so the only plug that fouled was the one when the choke was left on. the machine has been fine now

 

No, going slow won't foul your plugs on a 4-stroke. Putty-chug to your little heart's content!!
