My buddy and I just bought new rides. He bought a 2003 Z400..Its a great bike, but after he got spanked in the open runs aginst my stock DS..he's in the market for a pipe. He wants one with the most power gains but still kinda quiet. Should he get a full system or would a slip-on help at all?

The Yosh is an ausome pipe and its quiet.Yosh also makes alot of upgrades to go with it.

 

Carnege..you says Yoshi..but what about the HMF you have on your own bike?

 

If he wants to remain more quiet then HMF is not for him.
The HMF has great power and looks kewl but is very loud.
Were I ride loud is ok for the people that like it.
The Curtis Sparks pipe is loud too.
The best aftermarket pipe that is not too loud is the Yosh.

Don't they make a quiet insert for the HMF that reduces noise?

Yoshi is a great system, but if you say it is quiet you haven't been around one. Mine is loud.

 

Yea HMF makes a Quit Core and I orderd one with my pipe but have never used it.
I read somewere that the Quiet Core created to much back pressure but they was long time ago they mave have solved that problem by now.The Quit Core also comes with a removable spark arrrestor.Cost $35.Somewere I also read a while back is that the spar arrestor by HMF is still pending by the National Forest something.

I would go with the ct. My HMF is very loud and the ct made the least amount of sound according to the dirtwheels shotout.
