4x4 Jumping?????
#1
I've never owned a 4x4 ATV and was wondering about their jumping capabilities.
I'm looking to buy the Vinson and was wondering about its jumping ability or the capability of jumping with any sport/utility. I know I'll have to buy another sport if I want to take on the big stuff but what kind of stuff can I tackle with this machine, 6 to 10 feet jumps?
Do any of you have any other suggestions on SPORT/utility ATVs? I really want something sporty, not to big and heavy where I can't maneuver it around. Thanks for your help.

Don't forget the one that started the sport/utility wave, the good ol' Wolverine !!! while not the most powerful out there, it is very light for a 4x4, you can bolt on most engine mods that work for a Warrior (same motor ), it has 7.1" of suspension, almost 9" ground clearance, will go 55 - 60 , handles great, I've jumped mine high and far enough to surprise some sport quad riders, and with the addition of a Warn 424, it will slide corners like a sport quad. I have dragged logs, deer, other quads, a trail mower, run dunes and mud, fireroads and trails, and have been very happy with it all these years. These days, there are a lot of good sport/utility quads out there, you will have to test ride a bunch and see what fits and feels right for you. As long as you are happy, that's the main thing, not brand, cc's or raw power.

The biggest difference between brands is the dealer closest to you. They all have small differences, pick the ones most important to you. Obviously jumping is high on yer list. Stay away from most Hondas (exc maybe the rincon) and the straight utilities. Push down on the suspension on a grizzly then push down on the Prairie. The wolverine was the best sport /ute on the planet in its day, and if you never rode anything else you'd think it still is. (its still a great machine).
