DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TRICKS TO RIDING WHEELIES ON THE 250R. I CAN GET OFF THE GROUND, BUT I CAN NOT RIDE IT VERY LONG. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED. ALSO ANYONE USE CASTOR 927 FOR YOUR PREMIX. IF SO WHAT IS YOUR MIXING RATIO?

 

Practice is what it takes. Do you know about using your right foot/brake to help control from going over backwards? It sounds like maybe you're not getting enough lift and are having to rely on acceleration to keep the front end up. If you use the rear brake, it becomes easier.

 

Thanks for the info. I do not use the foot brake, but you can bet I am going to try it. I can wheelie a 4 stroke very easily. But I guess the 2 stroke is a bit different. Thanks Again.

 

Yes 2-strokes are harder because they are more aggressive. You need to find the balance point and try riding it out as long as possible ALOT. Then once you can ride it out in 1 gear for a while you can start shifting. You WILL need to use the back breaks if your going to do a good long fast wheelie. *incase you go past your balance point*

 

i have had my LT for about a year now...i could never ride a wheely on mine either. Then i went to my friends house and he taught me how to ride a wheely on a 300ex. I wasnt the best, but figured out how to shift and everything. My neighbors got a blaster not long ago, and i have been ridin that thing like crazy. I can now wheely on it 1st through 5th gears on pavement, and i am now teaching them how to ride wheely's on it. After pretty much mastering a wheely on a blaster, i got mine back together and started doin some wheely's. I found i can actually ride one now on my own LT. Its a lot harder than doin it on the blaster, but i can ride just as long on my LT as the Blaster. I say try and learn on something a little easier to wheely...such as blasters or 300 or 400 ex's...

finding your balance point is very important

 

I use Castor 927 and mix 32:1 with a 50/50 mix of 93 octane and 110 octane($4/Gallon) due to porting and head work done to the engine. but on a stock or mild engine you could use straight 93 octane. also you can't use 927 if the temp outside is below 35F because it seperates from the gas. I use Maxima Super M or K2 @ 32:1 in cold ohio winters.
