Default Something is wrong...Z250

My Z250 is having problems not running at idle without the choke on even when it is warmed up I give it a little gas and it cuts out and dies. I checked the fuel level and it is low but I can still see gas doen in there at the bottom so what is going on? Do they not like to be run on a small amount of fuel or what? Thanks!

definetly sounds like a fuel supply problem. Check fuel filter if equiped with one or the screen on the petcock valve. Take the fuel line off at the carb and turn the gas on to see if fuel is flowing, If so could be floats. I'm not real familiar with the Z250 but i hope this helps

Sounds normal to me, if the fuel is low, turning to reserve works.
I wouldnt worry about the fuel valve screen, its too new to be plugged. The only way youd have a fuel filter is if you put one on..it isnt installed from the factory. Throw another gallon in the tank and see if that helps you.
You can go to the pri postion on the fuel valve...that stands for prime, and gas will flow even with out vacumn.

That was it! I filled it up and it ran awsome! Went down to redbarn racetrack and cleared about an 6 foot tall by 9 feet long tabletop! It took me a while but I got it. I nearly lost it a couple times in the process too! I hit so hard that the new handlebars I got bent down once because I didnt have the clamps tight enough. So to get a fuel filter I would just order the size that would fit my feul line running from the petcock to the carb righ? Then I would have ti cut an inch out and install both cut ends to the feul filter right? Is it safer for the jets and stuff? How does it help? Will it hinder the fuel flow?

Thanks

Itll help keep dirt out of the float bowl. Yep, install it between the petcock and carb, and you shouldnt notice a difference whether its on or not.
