hey guys i was just wondering if a coolhead for a quadzilla is worth the $200.00 or just use the stock head and if you see any performance gains with the coolhead and does it run cooler?

I think it keeps my quadzilla cooler than a stock head. A friend near me has a quadzilla and his overheats within minutes(might be jetting). Now if I would buy one, I dont know. Mine came with it.

Mine came with one also but it's not quite put together yet. I'm thinking about using the stock head at first so that I can see if it actually runs cooler or if there is any power gain from the CoolHead with a standard dome. I might even go to the next smaller dome size and try it on 93 octane. It might be a while but I'll eventually be able to give some sort of answer.

you sound like me chickenhead. Mine is in pieces right now. I am gonna run a 55cc dome and race gas in mine. The cool head has to cool better than stock, there is alot more surface area.

Good memory Superstar. We talked about this a long time ago. I looked at a few of my posts and this might be the one. "LT500 Dome Sizes: Stock vs. Cool head?" Or look up Cool head. There are a few good guys on this forum that might be able to help. (I think most of them ride dunes and I can't think of anything better to test power and reliability more than sand).

i was tol by someone in the know if its fitted already - fine,

but there not worth buying, i think there are issues with the shape of the chamber on the stock head that agrivates the detonation probs but if you re shape the chamber it goes a long way to curing it,

in sure duneaddict will know the full rundown on this,

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys!
I wouldn't waste my $$$ on one. They work fine if set up properly, but certainly not worth the $$$$
The stock head can be 'fixed' by a qualified shop for less than $100

Do they cool better? I'd say not enough difference to spend the $$$$.. Typically the 500 doesn't have cooling issues anyhow.

Chicken, What porting has been done/are you doing? The head really needs to be set up to match the other mods/changes, etc. Fuel type, etc, etc, etc...

I have run mine with the stock head and with the cool head, Yes it does run cooler almost too cool. What I mean is on a 50 degree day it just never really gets warmed up and one splash through the brook and she sounds like a cold engine. Now on a warm day...she runs great for as long as the fuel holds out, would love to have a larger gas tank. I run cam 2 racing fuel and motul premix and have had no problems.
