Default Eiger exhaust spark arrest

Has anyone removed and cleaned their spark arrest screen. I tried to remove mine and it would not come out easily so I put the lock screw back in and gave up before screwed it up. Any advice??? I only have 100 miles on the machine but seen in the manual that you should clean it and just wanted to know how it comes apart.

It says in the manual that you should clean it after 100? I musta missed that part... Guess I'll have to do that tonight.

I had the same problem. I just sprayed it a few times with WD40 then took a large pipe wrench and worked it back and forth until it slid out. It was pretty tight and I bent the outer ring up a little but hammered it back out on a vise. I removed the screen to prevent having to go back in there again.
